Revry, the media company that distributes LGBTQ+ content across connected TV platforms, has hired a leading industry executive away from the region’s largest Spanish-language television broadcaster.
Daniel Schnider joined Revry last April as its Head of Business Development and Distribution Partnerships, according to his LinkedIn profile. At Revry, Schnider has worked to develop and execute on various development and partnership-focused strategies, including Revry’s recent launch on Paramount-owned free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) platform Pluto TV and its distribution via TCL TV Plus.
Revry announced his hiring in a press release on Wednesday. A spokesperson said he was brought on in a consulting role after he left Televisa-Univision last year, and was hired to a more-formal position this year.
“The team at Revry are brilliant minds, but also happen to be dear friends whom I grew up with in the streaming media business,” Schnider said in a statement. “I am honored to join them during this pivotal moment in Revry’s evolution. Revry’s commitment to empowering underrepresented voices aligns with my own passion for meaningful, inclusive storytelling. I look forward to building on the platform’s incredible success and delighting our audience across the globe.”
Schnider previously worked to co-launch the Latino-focused streaming service Pongalo, which was acquired by Discovery Communication’s Spanish-language business Vix in 2019. Two years later, he moved over to Televisa-Univision after that company bought Vix from Discovery and integrated it into Prende TV.
“Daniel’s unparalleled experience and vision make him incredible in expanding distribution and forming strategic partnerships,” said Damian Pelliccione, Revry’s co-founder and CEO. “His expertise aligns perfectly with Revry’s mission to amplify diverse voices and elevate our platform to even greater heights. I look forward to the impact he will make as we continue our journey toward reshaping the media landscape.”
In addition to Pluto TV and TCL TV Plus, Revry’s FAST content stream is available on Amazon, Plex, Philo, Local Now, Peacock, Xumo Play, Vizio WatchFree Plus, Samsung TV Plus and The Roku Channel.
Revry also operates a streaming multiplex of channels — including its flagship channel, Revry Her, Revry News and Revry 2 — which are available on its website.
