Friend MTS has received Frost & Sullivan’s 2025 Best Practices Technology Innovation Leadership Recognition, an award that highlights the company’s work in digital content security and anti-piracy technology, the company announced this week.

Frost & Sullivan said Friend MTS’ proprietary portfolio was among the most comprehensive in the industry, positioning the company as a key partner for rights owners, broadcasters and operators seeking to reduce piracy and stay ahead of future threats.

The analyst firm noted that Friend MTS has been at the forefront of innovation in content security, creating solutions that address evolving customer needs while advancing the broader market.

Friend MTS’ Emmy Award-winning portfolio includes technologies such as video fingerprinting, dynamic server blocking and watermarking. Its systems combine artificial intelligence, automation and human expertise to identify and disrupt sources of illegal content at scale and speed. The company said its solutions are designed not only to impact pirate revenues by disrupting their supply chain, but also to provide law enforcement and customers with evidence needed to pursue prosecutions.

Frost & Sullivan cited Friend MTS’ ability to deliver intelligence gathering, real-time support and strategic counsel to technical and legal teams as standouts within the content protection sector.

The company says its technologies currently protect more than 5,500 hours of live and on-demand programming each week, with rights valued at more than $60 billion. Friend MTS also protects content across more than 100 million applications and devices, analyzes around 26,000 hours of suspected infringing video each day and identifies more than 500 million piracy streams per month. It claims to disrupt illegal streams within minutes.

“Since day one, content protection has been our focus. This acknowledgement from Frost & Sullivan reminds us of how much we’ve progressed and how quickly the world changes,” said Shane McCarthy, CEO, Friend MTS. “We’re proud to fight for the rights of our global customers including Sky, the Premier League, UEFA, beIN Sports, MNC Media & Entertainment, Saran Media and more, to effectively protect their video assets, and to keep their revenues where they rightfully belong.”

“Frost & Sullivan applauds Friend MTS for combining proprietary detection tools, operational scalability, and deep industry expertise to deliver one of the most effective solutions in the content protection space,” said Alaa Saayed, Vice President of Research, Frost & Sullivan. “In a market where seconds matter and precision defines success, the company stands out for its ability to protect content in over 100 million apps and devices worldwide, demonstrating an exceptional capability to secure content across platforms, operating systems, and distribution models.”

Friend MTS has long provided anti-piracy services to leading entertainment, sports and media organizations. The company said the Frost & Sullivan award underscores its role as a cybersecurity partner in protecting premium video from unauthorized distribution.
