Comcast’s NBC Universal is launching a new free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channel dedicated to Spanish-language news from its southwestern Telemundo stations and affiliates.

The new 24-hour channel, called Noticias Telemundo Suroeste, aggregates content from six Telemundo-owned stations serving Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. The channel is available now through participating stations’ digital platforms and Amazon Fire TV Channels, with distribution on additional FAST platforms planned in the coming months.

The launch expands Telemundo’s growing portfolio of regional streaming news channels as broadcasters increasingly use FAST services to extend the reach of local programming beyond traditional television.

“We are committed to serving Spanish-speaking communities with the news and information they depend on every day across all platforms,” said José Cancela, the President of the Telemundo Station Group, in a statement on Monday. “The launch of our free Noticias Telemundo Suroeste streaming channel makes our valuable local content even more accessible to audiences to help them stay informed, entertained and connected 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”

The channel features content produced by Telemundo 39 Phoenix, Telemundo Colorado, Telemundo Utah, Telemundo Las Vegas, Telemundo 40 Tucson and Telemundo Nuevo México. Programming includes breaking news, weather coverage, sports reports, investigative journalism, consumer reporting and community-focused stories from across the region.

A key component of the service is a new weekday regional morning newscast that debuted this month. The one-hour program airs live weekdays from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Mountain Time and combines news, weather and feature stories from markets throughout the Southwest.

The channel’s lineup also includes live local newscasts from Telemundo-owned stations in Arizona, Las Vegas and Colorado, along with public affairs programming, lifestyle content and weekly news recap shows. Viewers will also have access to encore presentations of local newscasts and special programs highlighting the people, culture and issues shaping Hispanic communities throughout the region.

Among the featured programs are “Noticias Telemundo Nuevo México – Enfoque,” a weekly public affairs show focused on issues affecting New Mexico’s Spanish-speaking communities; “Acceso Total,” a lifestyle and entertainment program; and “Tu Semana en 30 Minutos,” a weekly recap of major stories from the Las Vegas market.

Noticias Telemundo Suroeste is accessible through the “Noticias 24/7” section of participating Telemundo station websites and mobile apps, as well as through OTT applications on Apple TV, Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices.
