Roku has released a new line of its Pro-model smart televisions that sport an OLED screen and advanced features like Automatic Game Mode.
The new TVs are available for sale at Amazon at a starting price of $1,000 for a 55-inch model, with a 65-inch model priced at $1,200. Both screen sizes offer a backlit, voice-powered remote control, a 120 Hertz OLED panel and access to Roku’s robust operating system with free streaming content and thousands of premium and free apps.
Next month, Roku will also release a line of ultra-premium OLED TVs, called Roku Pro Series LX OLE, that bumps some of the specs: The device will offer a 144 Hertz variable refresh rate screen that is craved by gamers and advanced polarization that substantially reduces glare in bright rooms. Those TVs will start at $1,300.
“OLED technology has been locked behind premium price tags, forcing many customers to choose between the display they want or a price that works for them,” Chris Larson, the Vice President of Retail Strategy at Roku, said in a statement. “We see a clear opportunity to change that equation. With the new Roku Pro Series OLED and LX OLED TVs, we’re removing that cost barrier and making a top-tier viewing experience genuinely accessible.”
Roku’s other smart TV models continue to be offered at Roku’s online store, Amazon, Best buy and other retailers, ranging in price from $180 for a 43-inch Select model to almost $850 for a 65-inch Pro model with a mini-LED screen.
News of the new OLED TVs comes just a few weeks after Roku raised prices across its standalone streaming sticks and pucks to account for the ongoing computer memory and component shortage.
