Sinclair, Inc. has reached a deal with the Miami Heat basketball team to bring most of its live games to free broadcast TV in West Palm Beach this season.
In an announcement this week, Sinclair said the majority of the Heat’s locally-televised games will be available through WTCN (Channel 43), which will expand the availability of Heat games into the West Palm Beach market.
The station will carry approximately 70 games during the season and one pre-season game that will take place Friday evening.

WTCN joins one other station, WPLG (Channel 10), in bringing Miami Heat basketball games to free broadcast TV. WPLG will air the games in the team’s home market of Miami throughout the season, with cable and satellite distribution throughout Broward County, Florida.
“The Miami Hheat are happy to partner with My15 WTCN to bring all available local game broadcasts to our fans in West Palm Beach and along the Treasure Coast,” Michael McCullough, the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of the Heat, said in a statement, using the on-air identifier for the station. “The leadership team at WTCN enthusiastically embraced the opportunity and have worked quickly to get HEAT games on the air for their viewers.”
WTCN and WPLG will provide local television coverage across a substantial portion of South Florida, including Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Okeechobee and Indian River counties.
The Heat’s television broadcasts will feature the team’s existing announcing and reporting personnel, including Eric Reid, John Crotty, Jason Jackson, Amy Audibert and Will Manso.
“We’re thrilled to bring Miami Hheat basketball to fans across the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast, with My15 serving as the team’s new television home in the West Palm Beach market,” Vincent Sollecito, Vice President and General Manager of Sinclair’s West Palm Beach television stations, said in a statement.

Sollecito said the arrangement would also create advertising and sponsorship opportunities for businesses seeking to reach local basketball fans.
Heat games will also be carried on local radio through WESP (106.3 FM) and WEFL (760 AM), both branded as ESPN Radio.
