Costco offers deal on two premium Roku streamers

Warehouse retailer Costco is giving streamers two big reasons to upgrade their aging Roku devices or who are looking to add more Roku boxes to TVs in their homes.

This month, Costco is offering a bundle package that pairs a Roku Ultra 4K box with the Roku Streaming Stick Plus for just $100 when purchased directly through Costco’s website, with economy shipping and handling included in the cost.

Costco does not require a membership to its stores in order to purchase items on its website, though it will charge non-members a 5 percent surcharge on most items. Those who do have Costco membership may want to stop by their local warehouse, where items typically cost less compared to their website listings. The Roku bundle has been spotted in some Costco warehouses for as little as $89 (this writer’s local Costco is offering the bundle for $90).

The bundle pairs together Roku’s top-of-the-line streaming box with its best, portable streaming stick. Both devices run Roku’s operating system, which has access to top streaming apps like Netflix, Hulu, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime Video, HBO Max, Comcast’s Peacock, Tubi, YouTube, Paramount Plus, Discovery Plus and others, along with live streaming TV services Pluto TV, Dish Network’s Sling TV, Hulu with Live TV, Vidgo, AT&T TV and Fubo TV. (YouTube TV is accessible through the YouTube app on Roku.)

Both streamers offer Apple AirPlay 2 support, access to 4K video streams and content displayed with high-dynamic range (HDR). Each comes with a voice-powered remote control, though the Roku Ultra 4K includes a built-in headphone jack for private listening and comes bundled with a pair of premium JBL earbuds.

Purchased separately, the Roku Ultra 4K normally costs $100, though some websites are selling it for a little as $70 right now. The Roku Streaming Stick Plus retails for $50, though it is also on sale at some retailers for just $40.

Costco members are limited to buying two Roku bundles in-store, while members and non-members are limited to two Roku bundles when purchased online.
