Fox News Media has Jason Hermes to serve as its newest Vice President of Advertising Sales and Partnerships for its free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channel Fox Weather.
Hermes most recently served as the Vice President of Content Marketing Sales at Allen Media-owned The Weather Channel, where he worked for the past four years.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jason to the FOX Weather team as we’re certain his decades of experience in developing and executing innovative strategies will help drive monetization and operations across our growing weather platform,” Dan Realson, the Senior Vice President of Sales at Fox News Digital, said in a statement. Hermes will report to Realson.
“As Fox Weather has become ubiquitous across all viewing platforms, we’re pleased to welcome Jason to the team, whose expertise in brand partnership will ensure continued optimization across our rapidly expanding audience,” Fox Weather President Sharri Berg said on Monday.
His extensive career in the media industry includes roles at NBC Universal, Turner Broadcasting, AMC Networks, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and Gas Station TV.
Fox Weather has successfully poached a number of on-air talent and behind-the-scenes executives from The Weather Channel since it launched in 2021, including veteran meteorologist Bryan Norcross and severe weather expert Mike Seidel. The channel celebrates its third birthday next month.
“In just three years, Fox Weather has become the fastest growing weather service in the country, and I am excited to work with the team to help drive further innovations and brand expansions,” Hermes noted.
Fox Weather is available on leading FAST platforms like Fox-owned Tubi, Paramount Global’s Pluto TV, Xumo Play, Plex, the Roku Channel and Samsung TV Plus, as well as some pay TV platforms like Verizon Fios, DirecTV Stream, Sling TV, Fubo and YouTube TV. It is also offered as a multicast network on Fox-owned TV stations across the country, and an audio simulcast of the channel is available to stream for free on TuneIn and Audacy.
