Former President Donald Trump will be interviewed by the Fox News Channel’s prime-time host Laura Ingraham during a campaign rally this weekend, the network said in a statement on Friday.
The conversation will take place at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, marking Trump’s first visit to the city since a gunman tried to assassinate him there in July.
During the interview, Trump is expected to discuss his feelings about being back in Butler since the assassination attempt and respond to other current events, including the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, which has become one of the deadliest storms of its kind in the United States.
Ingraham will also offer a behind-the-scenes look at how the U.S. Secret Service prepared for the Butler rally on Saturday. The agency was widely criticized for failing to adequately secure the rally in July, which allowed a gunman to go largely undetected until he was perched on a roof with his weapon. The gunman fired several shots in Trump’s direction, one of which resulted in a superficial wound near his ear. One attendee was killed in the incident, several others were injured, and the gunman was fatally shot by a Secret Service official seconds after opening fire. More people watched Fox News’ coverage of the assassination attempt that evening compared to any other broadcast or cable network.
Fox News says portions of this weekend’s interview will air on the channel Saturday evening, with the full interview presented during “The Ingraham Angle” on Monday, October 7 at 7 p.m. Eastern Time.
The Fox News Channel is operated by Fox News Media, a unit of Fox Corporation.
