Charter Communications has integrated the ad-supported tier of the streaming service AMC Plus into its Spectrum TV Select package.
The addition of AMC Plus comes about six months after Charter and AMC Networks renewed its distribution agreement early, allowing Spectrum to incorporate the ad-supported tier of the AMC-owned streaming service into its newer pay TV packages that also offer AMC’s linear networks. Customers with Charter’s Xumo Stream Box can start streaming AMC Plus and a handful of other apps, including Disney Plus, Peacock and Tennis Channel, at no extra cost; other customers can log in to the Spectrum customer service portal to learn how they can activate AMC Plus and other streaming services as part of their plan.
“Offering AMC Plus as part of Spectrum TV Select is part of our overall customer-first philosophy to provide customers with flexibility and choice to watch what they want, when and on what platform at the most competitive price,” said Tom Montemagno, the Executive Vice President, Programming Acquisition for Spectrum. “As we continue adding streaming services to our video packages, we are providing approximately $80 in retail app value and a convenient way to watch it all in one place, including the Xumo Stream Box. Our continued partnership with AMC allows us to not only simplify but enhance the viewing experience for our mutual customers.”
AMC Plus includes content from AMC Networks, BBC America, IFC, We TV and Sundance, along with streaming services Shudder, Sundance Now and IFC Films Unlimited.
