The Pac 12 Conference has renewed its agreement with Paramount Global and CBS Sports to serve as its TV broadcast partner for a few more years.

The deal keeps Pac 12 Conference games on CBS, Paramount Plus and CBS Sports Network through the 2030-31 season, and comes about a year before the Pac 12 relaunches with new schools and a new schedule. It will also allow CBS to take over live athletic events that were previously reserved for Pac 12 Network, which closed last year.

With Washington State and Oregon State as the only remaining members from the original lineup, the Pac 12 has been actively adding new institutions to stabilize the conference. At the same time, it has sought to revamp its media strategy by pursuing new broadcast and streaming partnerships that offer both financial upside and national visibility.

CBS Sports will serve as the primary media partner of the new Pac 12 under the terms of the agreement. The partnership includes coverage of football and men’s basketball games across CBS platforms, including the CBS Television Network, Paramount Plus, and CBS Sports Network. Additional broadcast and streaming partners will be announced at a later date, according to the conference.

“As the new Pac 12’s primary media partner, CBS Sports’ top-tier coverage will showcase the best of the conference’s football and men’s basketball games annually across our platforms, including the championship game for both sports,” said Dan Weinberg, the Executive Vice President of Programming at CBS Sports. “Extending this partnership strengthens our multiplatform college football and basketball schedule and, at a pivotal moment for the new Pac 12, allows us to collaborate, grow the conference and expand its reach.”

The agreement was brokered with the support of Octagon, which serves as the Pac 12’s exclusive media rights advisor and was involved in both the 2025 kickoff deal and the broader long-term extension.

Key components of the partnership include the annual football and men’s basketball championship games airing on CBS and streaming live on Paramount Plus. Each season, CBS and Paramount Plus will also carry a minimum of three regular-season football games and three regular-season men’s basketball games. Additional games will air on CBS Sports Network, with programming details to be announced closer to the start of the season.

“Our goal with this process was to find transformational partnerships for the new Pac-12, and throughout our discussions and time together it became more and more clear that a partnership with CBS Sports would be just that,” said Pac 12 Commissioner Teresa Gould. “I am thankful to the team at CBS Sports for seeing our vision and investing in our shared future as we build, launch and realize a new Pac-12 together.”

The CBS deal provides the conference with a high-profile platform to reach a national audience as it begins a new chapter. With a mix of linear television and streaming distribution, the Pac 12 is positioning itself to remain competitive in an evolving media landscape while maintaining the visibility and prestige expected of a Power Five conference.
