LG Electronics is bringing new features like Xbox gaming and Zoom video conferences to in-car entertainment and information systems, the company announced at a trade conference this month.

At the IAA Mobility 2025 trade show in Germany, LG said it was updating its Automotive Content Platform (ACP) to support new apps and services, including Xbox and Zoom. ACP is built on the framework of webOS, the same app-based operating system that powers LG’s smart TVs and other electronics.

“Leveraging nearly 70 years of customer experience expertise in home appliances and IT, LG has a unique competitive edge to redefine the vehicle from a simple means of transportation into a living space centered on the user experience,” said Eun Seok-hyun. “We aim to supply our webOS-based ACP to 20 million vehicles by 2030 while continuously expanding our content and service ecosystem.”

One of the highest-profile integrations will bring Xbox cloud gaming into cars through LG ACP. Passengers with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, a Bluetooth controller and Internet access will be able to play hundreds of titles directly from a vehicle’s infotainment system, including games like “Doom: The Dark Ages” and “Forza Horizon 5.”

“At Xbox, we’re always looking for new ways to bring the joy of gaming to more people, wherever they are,” said Chris Lee, the Vice President of Xbox Marketing at Microsoft. “Through our work with LG, we are expanding the experience and value of gaming even further for players. Soon, passengers can access their gaming library and carry their progression with them wherever they go – whether on the road or at home.”

LG also announced Zoom as a core ACP partner. A native app will enable video meetings and collaboration inside vehicles, supporting drivers and passengers who want to remain connected while traveling.

“At Zoom, we believe in meeting people where people meet – whether that’s in the office, at home or even in the car,” said Brendan Ittelson, the Chief Ecosystem Officer at Zoom. “This partnership marks a major milestone in redefining what’s possible inside the vehicle.”

LG is extending the webOS ecosystem, already used in more than 240 million smart TVs, into the automotive environment. Passengers will be able to stream from platforms like Netflix, Disney Plus, YouTube, Haystack News, TVING and WAVVE, with Rakuten TV, Joyn, Vasari and U-NEXT set to join later this year.
