Nearly two dozen regular season baseball games from the Athletics will air on broadcast television in the Las Vegas market this season, The Desk has learned.

A total of 20 games will air on Gray Media-owned KVVU (Channel 5), the Fox affiliate in Las Vegas, as part of Gray Media’s regional sports broadcast network, the Silver State Sports and Entertainment Network (SSSEN).

Most of the games will air on KVVU’s secondary digital channel, which is affiliated with SSSEN on a full-time basis. The channel will also offer an hour-long pre-game show called “A’s Cast Live” before games aired on SSSEN. A half-hour pre-game and post-game show will air on radio stations affiliated with the Las Vegas Sports Network.

The Athletics are in the process of relocating to Las Vegas, where their stadium is currently being built. In the meantime, the former Oakland team is playing all regular-season games at a stadium in West Sacramento, California. The A’s stadium in Las Vegas is scheduled to open in time for the 2028 baseball season.

The deal marks the latest between Gray Media and a professional sports franchise to offer premium sports on free broadcast TV, but it won’t be the only way that fans can watch the A’s this season: Major League Baseball is selling an in-market streaming package that unlocks access to all locally-televised games for $20 per month or $120 for the season.

The first A’s game will air on March 27 against the Toronto Blue Jays, with the last game on KVVU and SSSEN airing September 2 against the Texas Rangers. KVVU will simulcast coverage from NBC Sports California, the regional sports network that offers A’s games in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento markets.

In addition to A’s games, KVVU and SSSEN will offer games from the Triple-A affiliate, the Las Vegas Aviators, which play their games at the Las Vegas Ballpark.

A’s and Aviators games are available to stream on Hulu with Live TV, Fubo and YouTube TV.
