Veritone has signed a multi-year agreement with ATP Media to manage and license the organization’s tennis archive to broadcasters, brands, production companies and content creators across North America.

Under the agreement, Veritone will provide archiving, cloud hosting, artificial intelligence processing and licensing services for ATP Media, the broadcast production and distribution arm of the ATP Tour.

The archive includes match highlights, notable moments, player features and other footage from ATP Tour events around the world. Veritone said the material will be available for licensing across documentaries, news programming, advertising campaigns and digital content.

ATP Media’s content will be managed through Veritone’s AI-powered Digital Media Hub, which provides metadata tagging and search tools designed to help licensees find specific footage. The platform also incorporates e-commerce and rights management capabilities, allowing customers to search for footage, request licensing and complete transactions through the same system.

“Every season adds new chapters to the ATP Tour’s story, but the moments that define the sport continue to resonate long after the final point,” Alan Bruno, the Head of Business Development at ATP Media, said in a statement.

Bruno said the partnership is intended to expand access to ATP Media’s archive among brands, editorial organizations and other video licensees in North America.

The agreement expands Veritone’s sports content licensing business, through which the company provides rights holders with tools to archive, manage and monetize their video libraries.

“Some of the most memorable moments in sports deserve a life far beyond the live broadcast,” Veritone Vice President of Sports Media and Commercial Partnerships Craig Caruso said on Tuesday.

Veritone said its licensing platform is intended to give rights holders additional opportunities to generate revenue from archival footage while maintaining control over how their intellectual property is licensed and used.
