Radial Entertainment has appointed former Sony Pictures Television executive Carrie Ferman as its Chief Operating Officer, completing the buildout of the company’s executive leadership team as it expands its global content distribution business.
Ferman joins Radial after a 12-year tenure at Sony Pictures Television, where she most recently served as Executive Vice President of Business Strategy and Operations. In her new role, she will oversee strategic growth initiatives across content distribution, technology and business operations while leading the integration of future acquisitions into Radial’s platform.
She will also be responsible for coordinating operations across the company’s 70,000-title film and television library, which is distributed through a variety of free and premium subscription platforms in more than 50 markets worldwide.
Ferman’s hiring was supposed to be announced first at the StreamTV Show in Denver, timed to coincide with a fireside conversation with Radial CEO Jeff Shultz. Trade publication Variety broke the news about 10 minutes before the announcement was made on stage.
“We’ve spent the last few months assembling a team and a platform built for global scale, and Carrie is exactly the operator we needed to take it to the next level,” Shultz said in a statement. “Her experience running operations, supply chain, and M&A integration at Sony at the level she did is a direct match for where Radial is headed.”
Ferman said the company’s global distribution footprint and expansion strategy attracted her to the role.
“Radial has built an incredibly powerful global engine spanning every major distribution format from FAST to theatrical across 50-plus markets,” Ferman said in a press release. “Throughout my career, I’ve focused on bridging growth strategy with rigorous operational execution to drive scale, enable market expansion and maximize efficiency.”
At Sony Pictures Television, Ferman oversaw strategy, business development, operations, digital content distribution and transformation initiatives. Her responsibilities included modernizing Sony’s digital media supply chain, developing growth strategies for FAST channels and evaluating production, digital and cable television assets across multiple markets.
She also led mergers and acquisitions activity and managed post-acquisition integrations, experience that aligns with Radial’s acquisition-driven growth strategy.
Before relocating to the United States, Ferman served as Senior Vice President of Strategy and M&A for Sony Pictures Television International in London, overseeing strategic planning for 22 companies operating across 18 countries. Her international experience included work in Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.
Prior to Sony, Ferman served as CEO of digital publisher Remark Media, where she led a corporate turnaround and secured new funding for the company. Earlier roles included strategy and business development positions at NBC Universal and Time Warner, following the start of her career in corporate finance at The Walt Disney Company.
Radial has been expanding its executive team in recent months as it seeks to grow its global content licensing and distribution operations. Ex-Paramount streaming exec Jeff Shultz named CEO of Radial Entertainment, and the company recently hired Brendon Thomas to serve in the Chief Revenue Officer role.
