Comcast’s local television stations in Los Angeles will host a live debate between Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and City Councilmember Nithya Raman next month, giving voters another opportunity to hear from the candidates ahead of the November general election.
The one-hour debate will be produced by KNBC (Channel 4) and KVEA (Channel 52, Telemundo) on Tutesday, October 13 at 7 p.m. on broadcast and streaming TV. KNBC will offer coverage in English, with KVEA offering a Spanish-language translation.
Bass and Raman are competing in the November 3 general election after Raman finished second to Bass in the June primary. The debate will focus on issues including public safety, homelessness, housing and economic development.
KNBC Anchor Colleen Williams and Chief Political Reporter Conan Nolan will moderate alongside KVEA Anchor Alejandra Ortiz. The debate is being held in partnership with Loyola Marymount University.
“Local journalism plays a critical role during election cycles,” Todd Mokhtari, the President and General Manager of KNBC and KVEA, said in a statement. “As leading local news organizations, we are committed to providing voters with information and access to the candidates seeking to lead the city.”
KNBC and KVEA are widely available on broadcast, cable, satellite and streaming pay TV platforms. The debate will also stream on NBC Los Angeles News and Noticias Telemundo California, which is available on Xumo Play, Pluto TV, Amazon Fire TV Channels, The Roku Channel and Samsung TV Plus.
