Dish Network’s free television service Sling Freestream has added six new linear content channels, including two from the content licensing company FilmRise.
The addition of the six new channels now brings Sling Freestream to more than 360 free linear streams of content, including movies, general entertainment, live news, sports, documentaries and other programming.
Sling Freestream has been adding new content streams at a pretty steady clip — about a half-dozen each week — since it relaunched with its new brand in February. The service is a free version of Sling TV, the streaming cable replacement that starts at $40 a month.
The new channels added to Sling Freestream this week are:
- Afroland TV: Movies and documentaries from Africa
- Duck TV: Television for beginners
- FilmRise Comedy: Comedy shows and movies
- FilmRise Food: Cooking shows
- TG Junior: Educational shows
- Toon Goggles: Cartoons and other kid-friendly shows
Sling Freestream boasts more than 120 general entertainment, 40 sports and 50 news channels from the United States and around the world, all free to access without a subscription or credit card. To see a full list of streaming channels, click or tap here.
Sling Freestream is available within the Sling TV app on a wide number of supported devices, including Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Android TV (Google TV), as well as most popular smartphones and tablets. To check out the app, click or tap here.
