Spectrum to sponsor Meyer Shank Racing cars at Indy 500

Motorsport organization Meyer Shank Racing has announced Charter’s telecom brand Spectrum will serve as the primary sponsor for one of its cars at the Indianapolis 500 later this month.

The Number 66 Honda Indy car driven by Marcus Armstrong will be emblazoned with the Spectrum logo as its primary sponsor, the company announced this week.

“We’re really excited to have Spectrum onboard with us for the Indianapolis 500,” said Mike Shank, the co-owner of Meyer Shank Racing. “It’s always special to align with a brand that shares our passion for performance, precision, and pushing the limits. Having Spectrum adds real momentum to our effort with Marcus, and we’re proud to represent their colors on the biggest stage in racing.”

The Number 06 Honda Indy car driven by four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves and the Number 60 Honda Indy driven by Felix Rosenqvist will also carry the Spectrum logo.

The addition of Spectrum as a primary sponsor of one car and tertiary sponsor of two others will bring the brand in front of millions of viewers of the Indianapolis 500, which will take place on Sunday, May 25. It will be the 109th race of the Indianapolis 500, so named because participants drive in a curved rectangle for 200 laps across 500 miles.

More than 350,000 motorsport fans are expected to attend the event, and millions more will watch on television. The race aired for several years on ABC, before moving to NBC as part of a three-year rights deal that was renewed in 2022. This year, the TV rights to the Indianapolis 500 will move to Fox.

Sponsoring these incredible race cars is our way of showing up where speed matters most, and we cannot wait to cheer MSR on at the Brickyard.”

The Spectrum-branded cars made their public debut during practice laps on Tuesday.

Spectrum provides phone, broadband Internet and pay television service to more than 31 million customers across 41 states.
