Vizio is using interactive greeting cards on the home screens of its smart TV sets to promote holiday-themed movies and TV episodes.

The new greeting cards collate streaming content from Vizio’s free service WatchFree Plus as well as partner streaming applications across a variety of holiday-related genres, including “Romance: Under the Mistletoe,” “Comedy: Laughing All the Way,” “Free: ‘Tis the Season for Free” and “Kids & Family: Home for the Holidays,” among others.

In a press release this week, Vizio called its home screen initiatives “both interactive and entertaining,” and said its last four campaign executions related to its home screen saw five times greater engagement.

“We’re excited to offer Home Screen opportunities that make content search and discovery more enjoyable on VIZIO Smart TVs,” Liz Buhn, the VP of platform and content marketing at Vizio, said in a statement. “Through close collaboration with our media and entertainment partners, we enhance and elevate the viewing experience for millions. By fostering creativity and innovation, we can create engaging experiences that captivate audiences in new ways.”

The greeting cards campaign builds on various holiday-themed marketing initiatives concocted by Vizio to put users in touch with more content from its advertising and media partners. In October, Vizio updated its home screen to include floating Lego bricks that sent viewers to episodes of “Lego Masters” within the Fox Now app (which has since shut down).

That same month, it utilized “3D-like tombstones” to drive users toward Halloween and horror-themed content across a similar genre palette as its current holiday greetings initiative.
