Plex has deepened its partnership with NBC Universal to offer more free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channels within its connected TV app.

Starting this week, more local news, general entertainment and sports streaming channels are now available to Plex users, even if they do not have a subscription — called a “Plex Pass” — to the platform.

The channels include NBC Sports Now, the rebranded NBC Sports stream that offers replays of sports analysis programs and access to some niche athletic events. Also available is SNL Vault, which plays clips from the iconic sketch program “Saturday Night Live” around the clock.

Fans of reality-based shows will enjoy channels like The Real Housewives, Top Chef and Million Dollar Listing, franchised from the Bravo series of the same names. And streamers in major cities like Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago and San Francisco can watch live and replay news broadcasts from NBC- and Telemundo-owned stations.

The channels join a handful of other NBC content streams that have been available through Plex for some time, including NBC News Now.

“We’re proud to partner with NBCUniversal to bring their wide variety of hit channels and shows to Plex,” Shawn Eldridge, the Vice President of Content and Business Development for Plex, said in a statement. “For English and Spanish audiences watching sports, news, and entertainment, our users now have much to enjoy.”
