Comcast and Paramount Global’s streaming joint venture Sky Showtime has introduced a new premium tier of service that offers a number of perks aimed at movie and TV fans.
The tier, called Sky Showtime Premium, allows users to stream select film and TV titles in ultra-high definition (UHD/4K), and offers the same ad-free and offline viewing as the standard plan of Sky Showtime.
Premium subscribers will be able to watch content on up to five devices simultaneously, and download up to 100 TV episodes or 30 films for offline viewing on a mobile device.
Sky Showtime will debut the Premium tier across its entire footprint of 20 countries and regional territories on Tuesday, October 29, the companies said.

“From the start, Sky Showtime has always been committed to giving consumers choice and delivering great entertainment at a great price,” Monty Sarhan, the CEO of Sky Showtime, said in a statement. “We are delivering on that promise — first with our Standard with Ads plan and now with the introduction of our new Premium plan that offers customers all of the great Sky Showtime entertainment they love, but with additional features including more simultaneous streams, more downloads, and a growing selection of 4K UHD content.”
Sky Showtime will continue to offer its Standard tier, which includes ad-free streaming, and its cost-conscious plan called Standard with Ads.
The service offers content from the libraries of Paramount and Comcast’s NBC Universal, including Paramount Pictures, Paramount Plus, Peacock, Paramount Television, CBS, NBC, Dreamworks Animation, Universal Pictures, MTV and Nickelodeon. It is primarily offered in countries where Paramount and Comcast offer few, if any, television channels. Sky Showtime utilizes the technology stack as Comcast’s streaming service Peacock, with Paramount providing support in the form of capital and content.
