  • YouTube TV is adding Bloomberg Originals and Bloomberg TV+ to its $83 per month service.
  • Bloomberg TV+ will offer a 4K feed, the first time a news channel has been offered in ultra-high definition.
  • Bloomberg Originals offers radio simulcasts during the day and original programming at night.

Google-owned streaming cable television alternative YouTube TV has added two news channels from Bloomberg, the companies announced on Tuesday.

The two channels — Bloomberg TV+ and Bloomberg Originals — have long been offered on free streaming platforms over the past few years, and programming from each service has been available on the main YouTube app for some time.

Now, streamers with a YouTube TV subscription won’t have to switch apps in order to watch live programming from Bloomberg: Both channels are part of YouTube TV’s $83 per month package, which includes nearly 100 local broadcast stations and cable networks, including around a dozen news channels.

For YouTube TV streamers with the 4K Plus add-on package, Bloomberg TV+ will offer an ultra-high definition content feed — the same one that has been offered on Samsung TV Plus and a few other providers in recent year. Bloomberg TV+ is the first 24-hour news channel offered in ultra-high definition on any streaming cable-like platform.

Bloomberg Originals offers simulcasts of Bloomberg Radio programming during the business day, and original documentary series during prime-time and overnight hours.

“More than 60 million people on average watch Bloomberg programming monthly, and adding YouTube TV’s subscribers to our audience of business leaders is a big step toward continued growth,” Roman Mackiewicz, the Chief Information Officer at Bloomberg, said in a statement. “Viewers are navigating the rapid shifts in markets, geopolitics and technology every day, and this agreement helps us reach them on another innovative platform, to guide their most important work and personal wealth decisions.”

“We are proud to welcome Bloomberg to YouTube TV, building on our commitment to bring subscribers essential news, sports and entertainment across our vast lineup of channels,” Paul Snow, the Head of Media Partnerships at YouTube, said on Tuesday. “Through this partnership, YouTube TV subscribers now have access to Bloomberg TV’s high-quality business coverage to help them stay up to date and informed.”

YouTube TV is widely available on smart TVs, phones, tablets and other devices like gaming consoles. Other news and information channels offered through the service include CNN, Fox News, Fox Business Network, BBC News, MSNBC, Newsmax, One America News, Scripps News, Fox Weather, The Weather Channel, ABC News Live, NBC News Now, LiveNow from Fox and NewsNation. By the end of the year, YouTube TV will also offer C-SPAN’s multiplex of political affairs networks.
