Fox Television Stations has announced an agreement with Lake Washington Partners (LKWP) to lease the second floor of a downtown Seattle building for its new broadcast studios and production facilities, the company announced on Friday.

The building is Axis9, which was purchased by LKWP last year and has since undergone a significant remodeling across 321,000 square feet of corporate space. The building was originally constructed in 1990, and previously served as the administrative offices of Amazon, which occupied many of its floors before moving to another office tower in the same neighborhood.

The second floor of Axis9 will house a new, state-of-the-art news facility for KCPQ (Channel 13), which Fox acquired in 2020. The floor will also serve as the main newsroom for the station, and will include other amenities like a fitness center, full kitchen and terrace for weather reports.

It wasn’t clear if KCPQ’s administrative offices will remain at its current location along Westlake Avenue. That building also serves as the home of co-owned independent TV station KZJO (Channel 22).

Fox said the move will allow it to build out other production facilities to better serve KCPQ and its Seattle-area audience, including podcast studios, TV-ready presentation areas and a streaming studio.

“We are pleased to welcome Fox 13 to Axis9,” said Jordan Lott, the President and CEO of LKWP. “The station plays a vital role in informing and engaging communities throughout the Pacific Northwes. Lake Washington Partners is committed to delivering a space that supports Fox 13’s mission, and their decision to move here reinforces the long-term potential of downtown Seattle and our vision of shaping Axis9 into a center of innovation.”

“Making the move to Axis9 is a strategic investment in the future of Fox 13 Seattle and our commitment to best serving viewers across the Pacific Northwest,” noted Michael Lewis, Senior Vice President and General Manager of KCPQ and KZJO. “We are confident that Lake Washington Partners will create a state-of-the-art facility equipped with the technology to support our high-quality news and original content, right in the heart of downtown Seattle, an area that has become synonymous with producing cutting-edge advancements.”

Fox said the station will move into its new studios and production facility in November 2026.
