Fox News Media’s free streaming climate science channel Fox Weather is extending its live broadcast to cover severe weather affecting tens of millions of Americans across the country.
The live broadcast started Thursday with coverage of severe weather in Mount Vernon, Texas, a community located east of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, which included real-time video of a tornado captured by Brad Arnold of Local Storm Media.
The channel will extend its coverage through Friday to cover new severe weather outbreaks in the South and Midwest, a spokesperson for Fox News Media told The Desk late Thursday evening.
Fox Weather’s Fox Forecast Center will track the development of severe weather — including flooding, thunderstorms and tornadoes — as systems move through the southern portion of the United States and the Tennessee and Ohio valleys. Around 60 million people could be impacted by severe weather throughout Friday, Fox Weather reported.
Since Thursday, severe storms have already wreaked havoc in major metropolitan areas, with 300,000 people in the Dallas-Fort Worth area losing electrical service due to high winds and tornadoes there. Similar wind damage has been reported from northeastern Texas to central Arkansas, the channel reported.
Severe weather expected to continue impacting millions of Americans through Friday evening, with severe storm cells likely to develop in parts of Alabama (Birmingham), Georgia (Atlanta), Kentucky (Louisville), Ohio (Cincinnati) and West Virginia (Charleston).
Fox Weather meteorologists and reporters will cover the severe weather throughout Friday on its free streaming weather service, which is available for free through the Fox Weather app, on Fox Corporation’s streaming service Tubi, Comcast’s Xumo Play, Samsung TV Plus, LG Channels, The Roku Channel and YouTube.
Fox Weather is also available on several pay television platforms, including YouTube TV, Verizon Fios, Charter’s Spectrum TV, Vidgo, DirecTV Stream and Wow! Cable.
An audio simulcast of Fox Weather is accessible through the free streaming service TuneIn, which is available on all popular smartphones, tablets, smart speakers and streaming TV devices.
