French-based streaming TV service Canal Plus has added two new channels to its streaming service in Austria.
The channels, National Geographic and National Geographic Wild, rolled out to subscribers who pay at least €9 (about $9.20) to access its library of TV shows and movies, which include a curated selection of on-demand programming from National Geographic.
“The addition of National Geographic and National Geographic Wild expands our portfolio with the world’s best-known brand in the fields of history, culture and science as well as nature and the environment,” Philipp Böchheimer, the managing director of Canal Plus in Austria, said in a statement. “We are already seeing increased interest from our existing customers, and I’m sure that word will spread throughout Austria.”
Canal Plus Austria offers a 30-day free trial with no monthly commitment. The app is widely available on smartphones and tablets, as well as streaming TV devices powered by Amazon’s Fire TV platform.
National Geographic and National Geographic Wild are jointly operated by the National Geographic Society and the Walt Disney Company’s direct-to-consumer and international division.
