Amazon is refreshing its Fire TV Channels feature on its streaming television devices to include more programming from a handful of content creators and media firms.
Starting this week, content from Penske Media brands — including Variety, Rolling Stone, Billboard, the Hollywood Reporter and TV Line — as well as Funny or Die and Fandom’s GameSpot will appear alongside general entertainment, lifestyle, reality and news content in Fire TV Channels.
The addition of the new content providers brings Amazon’s Fire TV Channels partners and linear streams to over 400. Some are offered exclusively through Fire TV Channels, while others are available through Amazon’s Freevee app, which is available across a wide variety of streaming TV devices.
Amazon’s existing content partners include ABC News, CBS Sports, Fox Sports, Major League Baseball, National Hockey League, IGN, Amazon-owned IMDb, Martha Stewart, and GoTraveler.
In addition to the new content providers, Amazon is rolling out a refreshed user interface for Fire TV Channels that closely resembles its main Prime Video and Freevee apps. A new navigation sidebar sorts content by news, sports, entertainment, gaming, cooking, travel and music videos, while content tiles off to the right offers an easier way to flip through live and on-demand content available through Fire TV Channels.
Fire TV Channels is offered through all supported Fire TV devices, including Fire TV sticks, Fire TV Cube and Fire TVs.
