David Bittler, a 25-year communications executive with Paramount and its predecessor Viacom, is leaving the company, according to a memo circulated among employees on Tuesday.
Bittler most recently served as Paramount’s Executive Vice President of Communications for the company’s Kids & Family businesses, including its associated cable channels like Nickelodeon. His departure comes after Liza Burnett Fefferman, also an EVP in Corporate Communications, confirmed she was leaving earlier this month.
Both resignations follow Paramount’s $8 billion merger with Skydance Media, which closed earlier this month after receiving a final approval from a federal regulator in July.
Bittler joined Viacom in 2000, where he helped launch Logo, the first ad-supported television channel targeting LGBTQ audiences. Over his 25-year career with the company, he also held communications roles at MTV Networks and TNN, which became Spike TV and is now Paramount Network.
“It has been years of long hours, big wins, and countless challenges, and for me, time flew for all of it,” Bittler wrote in his memo. “I did it for the audience. I did it for our people here and for our brands that mean so much to so many. But most of all, I did it for love.”
Before joining Viacom, Bittler managed communications for CNBC and CNN.
