Apple and NBCUniversal are joining forces to offer a new streaming bundle that combines Apple TV and Peacock under one subscription, the companies announced Wednesday.
The Apple TV and Peacock Bundle will launch October 20 and is being promoted as the first partnership of its kind between the two media giants. The bundle will include a mix of originals, live sports and blockbuster movies from both platforms, offering customers a single subscription to access a wide range of content. Titles include “Ted Lasso,” “Severance,” “The Paper,” “The Traitors,” “How to Train Your Dragon,” and “F1 The Movie,” along with NBA games, which debut on Peacock next week.
U.S. customers can save more than 30 percent with pricing set at $15 per month for Apple TV and Peacock Premium, or $20 per month for Apple TV and Peacock Premium Plus. Subscriptions can be purchased through either platform’s app or website. Apple One subscribers on Family and Premier plans will be eligible for an additional 35 percent discount on Peacock Premium Plus, marking the first time Apple’s bundle service has offered a third-party discount.
“There is no more perfect combination of entertainment than the Apple TV and Peacock Bundle, with our complementary content portfolios featuring the best shows, movies, sports and live events,” said Matt Strauss, the Chairman of NBCUniversal Media Group. “With this first-of-its-kind initiative with Apple, we’re redefining what the customer journey should be for a streaming bundle with rich sampling and a smooth sign-up process, and we’re broadening the reach of Peacock to even more audiences.”
Oliver Schusser, Apple’s Vice President of Apple TV, Apple Music, Sports and Beats, said the bundle will help expand access to both brands’ programming. “From acclaimed originals to can’t-miss live sports, the Apple TV and Peacock Bundle unites the best of entertainment in a simple and seamless experience,” Schusser said.
As part of the partnership, users of both apps will be able to preview select content from the other service. At launch, Peacock subscribers can stream up to three episodes of Apple TV titles such as “Slow Horses,” “Silo,” “Palm Royale” and “Foundation.” In turn, Apple TV app users will have access to sample episodes of Peacock series including “Law & Order,” “Bel-Air,” “Twisted Metal,” and “Real Housewives of Miami.”
