  • DIRECTV has launched a new all-in-one streaming TV solution tailored for small businesses with strong broadband connections.
  • The offering targets mom-and-pop shops with limited space, providing the same business channel lineups via streaming or satellite.
  • Packages start at $40 per month for eligible businesses and include access to more than 140 free, ad-supported streaming channels.

After promoting its dish-free streaming television service to American consumers for the past few years, DIRECTV is expanding its outreach to mom-and-pop shops across the country.

This week, the premium pay TV service said it was launching an all-in-one streaming solution specifically geared toward small businesses, especially in metropolitan areas where space is tight yet broadband Internet is robust.

The launch coincides with a refresh of the DIRECTV for Business website, which will now offer education to small businesses on whether the company’s streaming platform or traditional satellite service are a better fit for their needs.

Both offer the same line-up of channels geared toward businesses, including sports-specific feeds that deliver live events found on streaming services like Prime Video and Peacock. The company’s general entertainment, news and sports channels are also available to business customers through the dish or via streaming.

But where DIRECTV primarily offered businesses access to their traditional dish service, the company realizes that its streaming platform is likely a better fit for small businesses that have reliable broadband Internet connections and may only have one or two TVs in their establishment — places like waiting rooms, or a single TV screen above a small bar.

“DIRECTV for Business has been undergoing the same digital transformation as our consumer platform, and the launch of our new streaming TV for business option gives small business owners more choice and flexibility to help them find the best fit for the best TV experience,” said Doug Eichler, the Senior Vice President of DIRECTV for Business. “From entertaining current customers to attracting new ones, TV can play an important role in the success of your business, and now you can get the ultimate entertainment experience of DIRECTV via streaming or satellite.”

DIRECTV for Business service starts at $40 per month for a basic package of channels and goes up to $125 per month for the Commercial Xtra Pack, which offers an expanded assortment of premium networks. The packages offered depend on the type of business, and some tiers offer promotional pricing for a limited time.

When opting for DIRECTV’s streaming platform, small businesses also receive access to more than 140 free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels that are available through DIRECTV’s app and Gemini set-top boxes. Those channels include ESPN 8 The Ocho, NBC GolfPass, NBC Sports Now, RedBull TV, NBA FAST, DAZN Ringside, SportsGrid Live, Fight Network, NBC News Now, ABC News Live, Fox Weather and the Car Chase Channel.
