The Fox News Channel marked 90 consecutive quarters as the top cable news channel in prime-time at the end of June, with programs like “Jesse Watters Primetime” and “Gutfeld!” continuing to resonate with late-night TV audiences.

Fox News was the only network to log viewership growth in terms of overall and key demographic viewers from April 1 to June 30, compared to the same time period in 2023, according to a review of Nielsen ratings. Meanwhile, CNN and MSNBC showed a double-digit drop in ratings over the same period of time, with CNN hitting a 33-year low in total day and key demographic viewership.

Fox News had 89 of the top 100 shows in terms of overall viewers during Q2, while MSNBC had eight shows and CNN had just three. The panel discussion show “The Five,” which airs just before prime-time, was the number one show on cable news with an average of 3.1 million viewers and 2.45 million households during Q2, according to a review of live and same-day Nielsen ratings. Jesse Watters Primetime, “Hannity,” Gutfeld! and “Special Report with Bret Baier” rounded out the top five programs on cable news based on the same metric.

Fox News and sister network Fox Business are part of Fox News Media, a subsidiary of Fox Corporation
