  • PBR adds to the CW’s growing lineup of live sports programming, including NASCAR races and Savannah Bananas baseball games.

Nexstar Media Group’s CW Network has entered into a multi-year broadcast partnership with Professional Bull Riders (PBR) to air Saturday and Sunday events from PBR Camping World Team Series, the broadcaster announced on Wednesday.

The new agreement further deepens the network’s sports portfolio, with live coverage set to begin Saturday, August 9 (6:30 to 8:00 p.m. ET) and Sunday, August 10 (2:00 to 4:30 p.m. ET), originating from Sunrise, Florida. The broadcasts will continue across 10 additional weekends and culminate with the league’s championship tournament, held at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on October 25 and 26.

“PBR on the CW brings a whole new level of grit, adrenaline, and edge-of-your-seat action to bull riding fans nationwide,” said Mike Perman, the Senior Vice President of Sports at the CW Network. “Paired with the NASCAR Xfinity Series, weekends on the CW will be a can’t-miss destination to experience two of the nation’s fastest growing sports with some of the most passionate fan bases in the country.”

Sean Gleason, the CEO and Commissioner of PBR, said the new partnership will significantly expand the league’s visibility.

“We are thrilled to welcome the CW Network as our new broadcast partner, joining their expanding list of sports programming to extend the reach of PBR Teams to fans across the entire country,” Gleason said. “With over-the-air access on Saturdays and Sundays, everyone, no matter where they are, can experience the excitement of bull riding games. This partnership perfectly complements our existing television schedule, delivering even more thrilling action to fans, making it easier than ever for them to stay connected to the sport they love.”

PBR’s Team Series launched in July 2022 and introduced a competitive, team-based format to what was traditionally an individual athletic event.

Each event consists of head-to-head matchups, where five riders from each team compete. The team with the highest total score of successful 8-second rides wins the matchup.

The new bull riding coverage will join a growing lineup of live sports on the CW Network. In addition to the full NASCAR Xfinity Series and WWE NXT on Tuesday nights, the network will air AVP beach volleyball this summer, ACC and Pac-12 college football games this fall, and PBA professional bowling starting in 2026.

The CW will also broadcast the debut network special featuring the viral baseball troupe Savannah Bananas, airing live from Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on Sunday, July 27 (3:00 to 5:30 p.m. ET).

PBR continues to build momentum as one of the world’s fastest-growing sports properties. In 2024, the organization drew more than 1.43 million fans to its live events, and its television broadcasts now reach over 288 million households in 67 countries and territories.

Other rights holders to PBR events include Dr. Phil’s Merit TV and Fox News Media’s streaming platform Fox Nation.
