
Research firm SSRS has announced plans to acquire Edison Research, the analytics and measurement firm that produces various studies that are in support of the broadcast radio industry.
The deal will combine two of the biggest research firms producing reports for the media, entertainment and political sectors. In addition to its regular “Share of Ear” reports, Edison is best known for its Election Day polling in the United States.
“By bringing Edison Research and SSRS together, we’re combining two teams with a shared passion for research and innovation,” said Melissa Herrmann, the President of SSRS. “Our alliance expands the ways we can support our research partners and deepens our ability to help the public, media, and policymakers make sense of how people think, vote, and engage with the world. We are moving into the future as one team, ready for what’s next.”
As part of the deal, Edison Researcher co-founders Joel Lenski and Larry Rosin will join SSRS. Both executives will play key roles in shaping the company’s strategic direction and expanding its research capabilities. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Together, we will build on Edison’s legacy in audio and election studies while creating new opportunities for growth.”
Lenski added that the combined firm will “bring unmatched expertise across qualitative and quantitative research, media insights, and public opinion measurement,” emphasizing that both organizations share a commitment to data integrity and client service.
SSRS says the deal will allow it to broaden its offerings in media, political, and consumer research while maintaining the trusted quality for which both companies are known. The firms said they will continue to operate under their existing client relationships while integrating new tools and capabilities across their research portfolio.
