Priya Dogra leaving Sky Group to become CEO of Channel 4

British public service broadcaster (PSB) Channel 4 has poached Sky Group’s advertising executive Priya Dogra to serve as the network’s new chief executive, the company announced this week.

Dogra currently serves as Chief Advertising Officer and Group Data & New Revenue Officer at Sky, where she oversees Sky Media, the company’s advertising sales unit, its data and analytics operations and several non-subscription revenue initiatives. She also helped launch Universal Ads, a cross-industry self-serve TV advertising platform backed by Sky, ITV, Channel 4 and Comcast’s FreeWheel that expands access to linear and streaming ad inventory for small businesses.

Before joining Sky, Dogra spent more than a decade at Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) and its predecessor companies WarnerMedia and Time Warner in senior operating and strategic roles across the US, EMEA and the UK. Her most recent position was President & Managing Director for Warner Bros Discovery EMEA, where she managed programming, production, marketing, advertising, commercial partnerships, theatrical distribution, streaming and content licensing. She also oversaw local original series for HBO and HBO Max.

Earlier in her tenure, she led Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Strategy at Time Warner and WarnerMedia, guiding investment activity and advising three successive chief executives. She began her career in investment banking at Citi, working with media and telecom clients.

Dogra left WBD for Sky Group last year. Alex Mahon, the most-recent CEO of Channel 4, resigned several months ago.

In a statement, Channel 4 Chair Geoff Cooper said Dogra’s commercial background and track record in digital transformation made her a strong fit for the broadcaster’s continued shift toward streaming and multi-platform distribution.

“Priya is an outstanding executive, a visionary leader and has a formidable intellect,” Cooper said. He added that her experience building partnerships and developing original programming aligned with Channel 4’s public service remit and long-term strategy.

Dogra said joining Channel 4 “is a genuine privilege,” citing the broadcaster’s mandate to reflect the UK and support creative risk-taking. She said she intends to build on Channel 4’s programming strengths, accelerate its digital efforts and deepen audience engagement across platforms.

Cooper also thanked Allan for overseeing the broadcaster during what he described as challenging market conditions. Dogra will become Channel 4’s eighth CEO since its launch 43 years ago, following Alex Mahon, David Abraham, Andy Duncan, Mark Thompson, Michael Jackson, Michael Grade and founding chief Jeremy Isaacs.
