T-Mobile is aiming to make it easier for its wireless customers to switch away from land-based broadband in favor of its wireless Internet service by allowing some subscribers the opportunity to have their equipment delivered through DoorDash.
On Wednesday, the wireless giant said its phone customers in select major cities now have the opportunity to have one of its 5G Home Internet routers delivered by a DoorDash driver when they sign up for service through the T-Life app, which is available to most T-Mobile post-paid and pre-paid subscribers.
Delivery of T-Mobile’s 5G Home Internet routers will be free if same-day fulfillment is offered through DoorDash, a T-Mobile spokesperson confirmed in a statement. The perk is rolling out in unspecified major cities this week and will be available in more areas in the coming weeks and months.
T-Mobile’s wireless home Internet product uses the company’s existing wireless network to deliver broadband speeds to residential subscribers. The service is available without a subscription to a T-Mobile wireless plan, though customers who bundle the two products save money based on the retail cost of each service.
Those bundles are becoming a bigger part of T-Mobile’s business as the company looks for ways to lock in subscribers with additional services, which makes customers less likely to cancel their plans.
At the end of 2025, T-Mobile reported 8.5 million wireless broadband customers, most of whom are also paying for wireless phone service through the company. T-Mobile serves nearly 140 million wireless lines of service; some customers have two or more lines, and the company generously offers pre-paid customers the opportunity to add additional lines for free, typically right before its financial earnings report is released.
Customer metrics are going to be harder to come by in the future: According to Fierce Wireless, T-Mobile will stop disclosing subscriber counts starting with its first quarter (Q1) earnings report, which is expected to be released between mid-April and early May.
